The HXN3 (Chinese: 和谐内3) (EMD classification JT56ACe) is a 6000 horsepower (4.5 MW) diesel-electric locomotive designed by Electro-Motive Diesel in the United States for export to China. All JT56ACe locomotives use AC traction motor technology and use the EMD H-Engine as their prime mover.

和谐3型内燃机车 由 中国北车集团 大连机车车辆公司与美国 emd 内燃机车公司联合设计制造，型号hxn3 [1] ，emd型号jt56ace。首台机车于2008年7月2日正式下线。

易安迪公司对该型机车的代号为 JT56ACe，其中“J”代表双司机室、“T”为涡轮增压发动机、“5”代表“H”系列柴油机、“6”代表16个气缸、“ACe”代表交流传动系统 [5]。 经中国铁道部批准，新机车被定型为HXN3型，其中“HX”是“和谐”的汉语拼音首字母缩写、“N”代表内燃机车、“3”代表大连机车车辆公司的生产厂商代号，通称为“和谐”3型内燃机车。

2008年8月19日 · With a weight of just 25 tonnes per axle the JT56ACe is the most powerful diesel-electric locomotive in the world at such a low axle load. The JT56ACe can pull up to 5000 tonnes with a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Under EMD's current contract, DLoco and EMD will manufacture 300 JT56ACe locomotives for the Chinese Ministry of Railways (MoR).
