Welcome to Johnson Valley, the most spectacular community in the Southern California Mojave Desert. Improvement Association and OHV riders love this site for its weather information and other outdoor activity issues.

The Spanish began to settle California in the 1700's, but neither they nor their Mexican ancestors seem to have passed through Johnson Valley. Even after California became part of the United States, the valley remained isolated and unoccupied, except by the Indians.

Johnson Valley has one of the largest off road highway recreation areas in the world. People bring jeeps, sand rails, dune buggies, quads, and motorcycles to have fun in the desert.

Johnson Valley Community Center holds monthly events for the community. Theses can be fundraisers, hobby, cards, or anything.

Johnson Valley Airfield is listed on the aircraft charts as Valley Vista Airport. The elevation is 3370 ft. above sea level. The two runways are dirt strip and placed in the shape of an "X", with one running North and South, while the cross wind runway runs East and West.
