Before VRO, I always topped off my tank on the way home and then added the oil, followed by a half gallon of gas from my lawnmower can to be sure it all made it down the fill hose. Rock the boat a little and good to go. The right 2 stroke oil is totally miscible w/gas and will dissipate throughout the tank pretty quickly w/minimal agitation.

I use AMSOIL for both my 2001 Johnson 200 (same engine as yours) and 2005 Yamaha 150 2 stroke. For 2 stroke it is very little smoking and clean and I have had good luck with it. I do get discounts as a preferred member.

Exxon will warranty ANY outboard motor which fails as a result from the use of Exxon Oil if used per OEM standards". I think this makes my mind up on which oil I choose. You can have that 12.00 a gallon Yamalube, I will stick with the middle of the road oil.
