Joseph Henry Garagiola Jr. (born August 6, 1950) is currently the special advisor to Arizona Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall [1] and formerly the senior vice president of standards and on-field operations for Major League Baseball. [2]

From 1998 to 2012, he performed part-time color commentary duties for the Arizona Diamondbacks, where his son Joe Jr. was general manager. Garagiola officially announced his retirement from broadcasting on February 22, 2013.

Joe Garagiola Jr. is in his third season as Senior Director, Special Projects and fifth since returning to the organization in December 2018 as Special Advisor to the President & CEO. In his current role, he oversees various special projects within the organization.
