The Misfits is an American rock band born in Los Angeles, California, and rival to Jem and The Holograms. The band's original lineup was comprised of members Pizzazz (main vocals, rhythm guitar and leader of the band), Roxy (lead guitar) and Stormer (keytar and lyricist).

Stormer, like all members of The Misfits, delights in causing trouble, particularly for The Misfits' rivals, Jem and The Holograms. While Stormer willingly goes along with most of the plots to upstage and sabotage them, she appears to have a greater sense of moral responsibility and empathy than her bandmates.

Sheila Burns, better known by her stage name, Jetta, is the saxophonist and newest member of The Misfits. She joined the band when they were looking for something that would give them a new, edgier sound, and with it avoid being upstaged by The Holograms and their "Talent Search" contest. She was voiced by Louise Dorsey.

JEM and the Holograms competed against the Misfits (Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer) and Eric Raymond for control of Starlight Music -- the studio Jerrica and Kimber's father created. This story line was revealed in Truly Outrageous! the movie, which was release in 1985, and seen in fifteen seven minute segments on Sunbow's Super Sunday/Super Saturday.
