May 4, 2017 · There was a "JBL Speaker" bullet point somewhere down near the bottom of a list containing potted plants and 70's furniture. These were actually my first JBL find in the wild so i was quite excited. They were priced at $40 bucks and were pretty near mint except the rotten Lansalloy surrounds/sun faded grille fabric on 1 speaker.

May 1, 2006 · 1) It's got the passive radiator, preventing the boominess inherent in the design of the typical JBL speaker. 2) It's a two way design, taming the forward sound inherent in their 3-way speakers. For some unknown reason, I just tend to end up liking 2 way speakers better than 3 ways, although that's a generalization.

Oct 10, 2009 · I have JBL 4313bs with a similar 89 db/watt/meter and I am driving them with a 160 watts per channel of s.s amp. but the amp has meters and rarely see it going over 1 watt. It sounds great I guess I have lots of headroom.

Apr 9, 2015 · I don't have the cabs, bought several LE10 and PR10 for projects, one I'm in the midst of currently. Taking a set of T-200 cabs (sans drivers) and installing the LE/PR in those cabs (near perfect fit). The volume is right in the JBL specs, puts the woofer (along with Mid and Tweeter) at ear level (due to height of the tower cabinet).

Oct 6, 2007 · If they sound good up there, I'd be real tempted to let them run full range, as JBL did in L77. The cone is damped with Aquaplas. From your calcs, it's looking like a modern true 8-Ohm tweeter's going to plug right in there, maybe, and I'd say changing the basic L77 HF character would be a very good thing, indeed.

Nov 1, 2022 · I use them with 18in Peavey low rider subs. The L77 plays 100hz and up, 24db per octave, active crossover. Powered by a hafler dh200. They are fun. Not perfect, but fun. A nice change for when I want something different. Most of the time I listen to horn loaded compression drivers or open baffle set-ups.
