Jan 2, 2018 · Prices for JBL L100s have gone nuts over here in the US, and that seems to be causing a significant increase in the prices of "lesser" JBL vintage speakers, too. If the 4301Bs are out of your price range, try looking for a pair of L19/L19As - they are essentially the same thing, but without the blue baffles and the Control Monitor pedigree.

Was rid of some L100's, L110's, 110A's, L150's, L166's, 4401's, and a few sets of the LE8T-H's and D280's and D208's. May 23, 2017 · I picked up a pair of JBL L26's at a local flea market for a decent price. The drivers are in good shape and the cabinets are in decent condition except the mold that's on top. Now,I removed the drivers from one cabinet without an issue. However,on the second cabinet one of the screws won't come out and it just rotates loosely.

Jan 18, 2020 · So I recently moved across the country and last night I unpacked my JBL L26 speakers and I believe one of them has a tweeter problem. I'm not hearing anything from that tweeter. Woofer seems OK. These are original L26's from around 1976 and I've babied them all my life. They were well packed for the move, but I had to use a mover.

Nov 26, 2019 · One other consideration is the L26 has the lighter Oak veneer and the L40 has darker Walnut veneer. The L40 and L26 have essentially the same woofer and cabinet size but I think the L40 is tuned subjectively lower so can go a little lower in bass response, especially if the fiberglass cradle behind the woofer is intact.

Dec 30, 2014 · I'm giving some thought to replacing the woofers in both my JBL L26 cabinets. I bought these cabinets in 1977. I blew the original woofers some time in the early 1990's and replaced with some inexpensive 10" speakers. I'd like to replace those with something that sounds better. The L26's are 35 watts and came with a 10" woofer.
