2005年7月14日 · There are epoxies intended for gas tank repair. The one I used came in a putty stick and I kneaded it to mix it. The fuel tubes on the outlet of my Pathfinder's fuel pump were rusted off and I epoxied them back on. Worked great. AFA JB Weld, I don't know, but I did use it to fix a holed crankcase on snowblower and it worked fine.

2006年7月20日 · I've used JB Water Weld to repair a crack on oversized Acebris gas tank on an XR650R and to seal the holes from the crossover tube "fix" on my current 950 ADV. Both with no issues; however, a quick search shows JB Weld now makes "tank weld." Maybe give that a shot. Unsure if you can repair the crack from the outside, but that's what I'd do.

2011年6月30日 · I ended up using "marine grade" JB Weld because it can be used on many different types of plastic as well as metal. The repair was done on the engine side of the tank. The repair is holding up it's been 5 months now and I have had 2 slow speed drops (on dirt) on that side. FYI- I asked the dealer and they did not have an answer.

2003年8月13日 · I've used JB Weld many times on several types of plastic and it has always worked extremely well for me. Even on a polyethylene radiator overflow bottle. Regular epoxy would turn to gel and fail after a couple months when exposed to antifreeze and heat. Tried JB, it was still holding when I sold vehicle 8 years later.

2011年4月11日 · I once spun a brass, threaded boss out of a plastic tank with a drill. One of the petcock bolts had become stuck in it and the boss in the plastic wouldn't hold. Then I removed the stuck bolt out of the boss and put it back into the hogged out hole with Original JB Weld. It has been working like a champ for at least 5 years.

2001年7月6日 · A friend of mine was banging out and reattaching his exhaust heat shields under his car and ran a self-tapping screw into the bottom of the plastic fuel tank. He got a stainless screw and nylon washer and put that in the hole, then cleaned the outside of the tank and covered the whole area with JB Weld.
