Sep 12, 2022 · As with any of the malm pieces (I had the bed frame, bedside drawers, and dresser), the glue at the joints can wear off causing the corners to become exposed and sharp. I still use the side tables (so almost 20 years old now) with minimal wear and tear.

Oct 9, 2022 · The only reason this will not work is if the person who put the bed together put glue on the wood dowels. You should never put glue on the wood dowels. Never. The wood dowels do not hold the bed together. The wood dowels only hold the pieces in place, and they should never be glued. The Cam Wheel Locks hold the bed together. Good Luck.

Jan 26, 2021 · My parents slept in it and didn't have an issue either. I think it's best to go for the good slats though. I got a thick mattress for it so you don't roll into the edges and it's not too noticeable getting out the bed. I paid £30 for a normal malm bed off Facebook before that though and it was rubbish.

May 14, 2013 · Hello former IKEA co worker of 5 years. I currently own a platform bed with matching storage underneath. (Brimnes queen) I do agree the underbed storage for that is flimsy. However MALM is one of the best sellers. Idk what size mattress you currently have but the queen size frame has a matching headboard with storage sold separately.
