Since the truck originally had a 392 with a 4 barrel, the guy installed the old manifold and 4 bbl carb on the 345. At least that;s the story he told. DWF

2012年8月14日 · Even the loadstar trucks that had a 345 still used a two barrel carb. Alot of the power is having the timing down perfect and carb set really good. I once heard few guys with their scouts set the two barrel just right andhelps having a light foot on the gas get around 16-18 in city and around 21 on highway.

I also like the fact that there aren't any gaskets below fuel level to leak and you can change jets without a new bowl gasket. I'm sure you already know that, though. The used manifolds are pretty easy to find since the 392 and 345 both used the same one.

2014年3月18日 · According to Holley's flow charts the 392 requires less than 380 cfm. I've been the 345 4bbl route on a scout and will not do it again. Almost impossible to get it dialed in right and wastes a lot of gas. IH engines are slow running engines and don't require a big carb. Remember a 345 is rated to only turn 4000 rpm. Eason

I can just span the 9" with my thumb and little finger for a real quick check--obviously your results may vary! Some 345's in the Scout and Light Line used the Quadrajet 4 barrel--not all had a 2 barrel.
