2021年2月8日 · An apples to apples comparison of 9900K HT OFF vs 9700K 8 threads, the 9900K will overclock better for sure. But with HT turned on, the 9900K is very hard to cool and will likely clock the same or worse than a 9700K.

I also had the z370 platform though, i got 2 z370 Aorus Gaming 7's and 2 8700K's that clock like crazy. One does 5.3GHz. The z370 Aorus Gaming 7 is basically the only z370 board worth dropping a 9900K in. I was able to get 2 9900K's for $500 so i went ahead and did it. Unless the 9900K is $200-$250 i wouldn't do it. Its not worth it.

2023年4月19日 · Read the comment again… IPC performance. Yes the 9900K is overall faster, but the comment referenced the fact that core for core and clock for clock, 12th gen is faster. So now, put that 12th gen performance in the form of the 12700K and you get both the much faster single core and IPC performance, but also, well… the rest of the 12700K.

2018年10月19日 · Plus the 9700k has more L3 cache per thread than the 9900k (12MB/8threads = 1.5MB/thread vs 16MB/16threads = 1MB/thread), which actually causes it to perform slightly better in a few benchmarks. I kind of expected the 9700k to be the sweet spot for gaming.

The i9 9900k has 6 cores, the same as the i7 8700k. But, the i7 9700k has 8 cores. So, what is it about the i9 9900k that makes it better for the wireless CPU burden than an i7 9700k with it's additional 2 cores over the i9?

2020年5月5日 · The amd equivalent to an i9 9900k is the ryzen 7 3800x. There really isn't an equivalent to the 9700k because all of the ryzen 3000 have hyperthreading. If anything the ryzen 5 3600 probably has the closest mulitcore performance. A ryzen 9 3900x far exceeds the 9900k in everything except gaming, where it loses by about 5%.

2023年2月7日 · No OP, but I went from a 2600k to a 9900k so you know... I still wouldn't spend money going from a 9700k to a 9900k. Just time for full upgrade if the 9700k isn't enough. The cost of a second hand 9900k will already pay for the Mobo or memory for a new setup, an to be honest the 9900k is on it's last legs pretty soon.

2018年12月14日 · But yes, sooner or later, as we get more CPU intensive games, the 9900K will pull away, because it can run say 24 threads on its 16 virtual cores, vs the 9700K only being able to run say 16 threads on its 8 virtual cores.
