2018年12月10日 · Macrophages constitute a very versatile population of phagocytic cells present in most tissues. Besides their direct antimicrobial functions macrophages secrete a wide array of cytokines and chemokines thereby regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses.

One such model uses human monocyte-derived macrophages (hMDMs), which are isolated from the peripheral blood of human subjects and then differentiated in culture into various macrophage phenotype subsets.

We demonstrate that our basic protocol minimizes cell loss, reliably distinguishes macrophages from dendritic cells (DC), and identifies all major granulocytic and mononuclear phagocytic cell types.

Using a human monocytic cell line, THP-1, undifferentiated (suspension) THP-1 cells were screened for surface marker expression using a BD FACSCantoTM II flow cytometer. Differentiated (adherent) THP-1 macrophages were screened using a BD PathwayTM high-content imaging system.

We investigated the antigenic and cytokine macrophages profile derived from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in lung affected by cancer (cBALF) and healthy lung (hBALF) of 36 patients. Macrophages markers: CD206, CD163, CD80, CD86, CD40, Arginase-1, and CD68 were evaluated by flow cytometry.
