And perhaps the very best hull-down sniper in the game is Chieftain Mk 10. 10 degrees of depression, one of the strongest turrets in the game and a powerful dart with reasonable reload. It doesn't get much love, but once you've mastered British hull-down play, it may be the absolute pinnacle of the style.

Hull-down tanks need some serious downsides to counter their strength. The IS-7 is a pretty good example of this. One of the best turrets in the game paired with one of the worst Tier X heavy guns.

For example there are two ridges across from each other. one is yours and one is the enemies.

By your logic, the answer should be 3) partial cover +1 to-hit, hull-down +2 to-hit, engine not submerged, which is what I actually think is the best answer from a balance perspective.

2022年5月20日 · On the WEAPONS ATTACK pg 42-43 and ATTACK MODIFIERS TABLE 44 there is zero mention of hull down. Hull down does not specifically say it gives you partial cover, it only says it does not adjust your TMM rule, and gives a +1 target number modifier. But when going through the S.A.T.O.R. rules, its lost in translation.

2021年12月16日 · It’s where you are in a position that your hull is hidden behind terrain or an obstacle so that only your turret is exposed. This does two things: it makes your tank harder to both spot and hit due to less of it being visible and it hides the hull of your tank which is often the weak spot (especially in later NATO tanks).

The 705A is a one trick pony who can only do side scraping. The gun is horrendous and the most unreliable one for a tier 10 heavy imo. It's got a lot of frontal armor and is somewhat mobile, but it lacks gun depression to play aggressive hull down spots. With a mediocre slab of HP, it isn't great under sustained fire either.
