Yes it is possible, however the categories should be pre-set by a user that has full access permissions to the mailbox which in this case is you as the admin of the shared mailbox , once you create categories, other users of the shared mailbox will be able to use them too.

2024年12月12日 · This needs to be addressed ASAP in Outlook. This was a huge mistake for Microsoft to remove adding Categories in the To Do manager. And we need to be able to search by lists as well as categories. I am having to utilize additional task manager software now that this has been removed. Huge oversight. 2025年2月11日 · From my findings, I am having the same issue as you, unable to manage the categories or create new ones. I have also checked to see if I could do it in outlook desktop app and from the there the group category is greyed out. I have checked In the admin center to see if there was something to be done from there but there is no setting for it.

2023年10月25日 · In the old Outlook, it had its own distinct set of categories, but these did not transfer over to the new Outlook. Instead, I'm seeing the categories from my personal email, not the shared ones. Interestingly, the old emails that were previously assigned to the shared categories are still grouped together, albeit without any color coding.
