hat is Medicaid? Medicaid is a medical assistance program that helps pay for some or all medical bills for many people who cannot aford health care such as hospital and doctor bills, prescriptions, medical equipment, rides to and from doctor.

South Carolina Healthy Connections Choices is a program that helps eligible Medicaid members enroll in health plans. When members enroll (or join), they can choose both a health plan and a doctor (or clinic).

This online tool is for South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid members to check current eligibility status in our system. This is not a screening tool to see if you may be eligible for Medicaid.

If Healthy Connections determines you are eligible, and you are new to Medicaid, you need to choose a health plan or one will be assigned to you. South Carolina Healthy Connections Choices manages the health plan selection process.
