What's a good header paint? - Hot Rod Forum
2021年11月15日 · Too thick is worse than not thick enough. With header paint it's likely to flake easier if it's laid on too heavy. Another issue is engine start up with freshly painted headers. If the engine is going to need a cam breakin, don't do it with freshly painted headers! It will end up ruining the paint during the 20-30 minute 2500 rpm steady run.

2019年11月16日 · Best thing I can tell you is to get a can of flat black VHT header paint. Shoot the primer, paint, then shoot on the clear on letting the coats all air dry 30 minutes between coats. Use some thing like a piece of scrap (or old cookie sheet). Throw it into the oven at 250F for 20 minutes then kill the heat and let it cool in there for a hour.
Coating headers with high temp ceramic paint.

2003年2月24日 · I have used VHT header paint, with very good results. It will hold up, if all of the old paint is removed from the headers, right down to bare metal. Then clean everything with lacquer thinner and dry completely. Apply several light coats, then cure them. I use a bank of three heat lamps to cure each header for 24 hours or longer.

2013年8月14日 · Kelly and Killerratrod are 100% right in what they are telling you...if your headers are a generic brand and not of a high quality...chances are that the paint that's on them will perform about as good as the headers. Sandblasting the paint off is a good way to go...if you must remove the paint.
