2024年12月28日 · When I do clean my .22's I have a small .17 caliber steel cleaning rod I use with a .22 mop on it. I don't use brass bristle brushes on my .22 rifles or pistols. I remove the breech bolt and clean from the chamber end, and don't use a bore guide.

2024年1月5日 · There was a thread about wet tumbling. Not to mix threads. My question is about Viberate Cleaning. I, use corn cob and some time treated walnut shells. The walnut shells leave a red powder dust inside the case. I, have always took a Q-Tip and wiped it out. Would it hurt any thing if , would not wipe it out. Corn cob do not seem to do this.

2020年9月16日 · Remove nipple from barrel and with the correct cleaning jag, attach it to your cleaning rod and with the correct diameter cleaning patch, pump the hot soapy water up and down the bore until your patches start to show up cleaner. 3 to 4 patchs is normally a good start before its time to dump the dirty water out.

2021年3月6日 · I took a milk jug with a soap, water and vinegar mixture in it to drop the brass in after firing it to get a head start on cleaning up the brass. Don't be alarmed at the colors the brass turns after you drop them in the water and vinegar mixture, it comes clean in your tumbler.

2024年7月17日 · I did, actually. SAAMI shows .470" max diameter at the case head. The round that blew out the primer swelled to .471", and it wouldn't chamber without forcing it in with a cleaning rod. Had to drop a 5.56 bullet down the barrel to knock it back out. The rest of the now-twice-fired brass measures around .465-.468" if memory serves me correctly.

2010年12月19日 · In the process of removing the scope from the gun, I discovered that on the 2 front screws on the front ring of the scope that the hex fittings have been stripped/smoothed out (it is the hex head that is stripped - not the actual screw or ring threads) by whoever installed the scope on the rifle, I would guess by attempting to over tighten.

2010年3月13日 · I cleaned the inside of the bore with a wire brush head with my cleaning kit, cuz at the muzzle it was a bit caked. For shooting shots this shouldn't matter all that much, for the little amount there is now. I took a picture looking down the muzzle to see the bore, and its looking great, So I might take it out today for a shot or 2.
