My friend told me that theres the Story of Seasons games, which are essentially the REAL new Harvest Moon games now, as they're developed by the original company.

2022年5月16日 · Just so you’re aware: in 2013, the team that makes the Harvest Moon series switched localization companies from Natsume to XSEED, but in doing so they lost the rights to the Harvest Moon name. Any modern Harvest Moon game on the switch isn’t a “real” Harvest Moon; the series was renamed Story of Seasons in the west.

2021年3月14日 · The game series from Japan, Ushi no Tane, was localized as Harvest Moon for a long time, but recently there was a split between the companies, and the localization team held the rights to the name Harvest Moon, so they decided to make their own games, and the original series was renamed to Story of Seasons for localization purposes.

One World brought in some new concepts (like movable farms, harvest wisp, etc) for the HM series, but isn't really well polished, while Wind of Anthos improved on those concept a whole lot. One of my biggest compliant for One World is that the map is way too big and there are too few fast travel points, this makes going anywhere takes forever.

2020年12月10日 · Natsume harvest moon games aren’t the harvest moon games you grew up with. They also have yet to impress with any of the harvest moon games they’ve created. The trailer released for one world months ago was deleted because of all of the downvotes (some channels reuploaded it though, so it’s available on YouTube still.)

Whether you knew this or not you’re still comparing One World to the “old” harvest moon games, but they’re not even the same series. That said, Story of Seasons aren’t producing good games anymore either, one world might even be better than PoOT (I wouldn’t know)
