The park offers camping, boating, swimming, horseback riding and mountain biking opportunities, the historic Hellestad House log cabin, and four picnic areas including Whispering Pines along crystal-clear Marl Lake.

Hartman Creek State Park has a 103-site family campground and five group camping sites. Reserve a campsite online. The campsites are in either a red pine forest or an old apple orchard/hardwood mix of trees. The campgrounds have spacious sites and the family campground has two shower and flush toilet buildings.
