With both privacy and beautiful views, National Harmony Memorial Park is a historic Hyattsville cemetery that dates back to 1825. We have a rich story that’s closely tied to black history and many prominent African-Americans burials.

Now known as: National Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery, Landover MD. In the late 1950s, National Harmony Memorial Park was contracted by the D.C. government to move the historically black Columbian Harmony Cemetery, which had fallen into disrepair.

National Harmony Memorial Park is a private, secular cemetery located at 7101 Sheriff Road in Landover, Maryland, in the United States. Although racially integrated, most of the individuals interred there are African American.

Established in 1960, National Harmony Memorial Park is nestled in Hyattsville, Maryland, providing a serene and thoughtfully landscaped final resting place for loved ones.

The old cemetery was the final resting place of African-Americans of every social and economic status for more than 125 years. As the “successor” to the 1857 Harmony Cemetery (which included remains from the original 1829 site), National Harmony Memorial Park could be characterized as the latest installment in the organization’s history.

Many distinguished Black citizens including Civil War veterans were buried in this cemetery. These bodies now rest in the new National Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery in Maryland. Erected by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

National Harmony Memorial Park is a cemetary and final resting place for many of the local residents. The memorial park is well kept with beauifully manacured lawns and can be easily accessed from the street.
