Nov 12, 2009 · I am aware of the following Remington pump shotguns; Remington Repeating Shotgun (1908 to 1910) Model 10 (1911 to 1928) Model 17 (1917 to 1933) Model 29 (1929 to 1933) Model 31 (1931 to 1949) 870 (1950 - on) 887 (newly introduced) All of these do not have exposed hammers.

May 23, 2004 · I have an old Marlin Take- down style, Exposed Hammer Pump 12 ga. that I'd like to know the Model number of, and an approximate value for. Any help will be most appreciated. Ser. # is 59xxx. Pat. dates of 1891, and two dates in 1896 are stamped on barrel top, as well as Marlin Firearms Co. etc. 12 Ga. stamped near breech. Bore appears to be good.

Feb 4, 2014 · There's always that possibility. The "Blue Book of Gun" Values makes no mention of barrel lengths but the "The Breech Loading Shotgun in America 1865 to 1940" by the late Joseph T. Vorisek does. Joe says the Marlin Model 24 made from 1908 to 1915 came with a choice of 28, 30 and 32 inch barrels. A 21 incher seems to be an odd ball length.

Apr 4, 2024 · 3. I read that the 1898 wasn't safe. Are all Marlin exposed hammer shotguns "unsafe"? I don't even know how many models there are. I found there are models 1898, 17, 19, 21, 42... Dunno if there are more and the differences between them. I have a Winchester 1897, and just wanted another working example of an exposed hammer shotgun.

Dec 19, 2010 · 1- hammer follows bolt With an empty gun, hold the trigger back and gently slide the bolt forward with the pump arm. If the hammer follows along behind, STOP. It means the secondary sear spring is broken and the gun could, BIG MAYBE, slam fire without the breech locked. 2- try to puch firing pin forward out of bolt face.
