2022年8月10日 · Such a good and timely post. Tested HPV 16 and 18 positive a few weeks ago with normal Pap smear results. Had colposcopy yesterday. Very unsettling thought. Female past menopause. My ob said it was a bad luck combo to be post menopause and have 16 and 18.

2020年10月31日 · If you end up with hpv 16 in the future, it’s most likely because your partner gave it to you, (assuming casual sex isn’t involved) hence he would have already had the virus, hence you did not cause anyone to get cancer. Mind you there are around 15,000 reports of cancers cauSed by hpv in men per year.

2021年6月4日 · Don’t panic! I know it’s scary because HPV 16 is considered among the highest risk, but you have to keep perspective— even the “high risk” strains are very unlikely to become cancer. The colposcopy will be a lot like a pap, except they’ll take some biopsies- feels like a pinch or some cramping.

2023年3月9日 · Then 6 months later I went to get tested to another clinic due to being somewhere else. The pap smear was clear but then my HPV test showed HPV-16 this time. Although I must say, I do not trust this clinic but I was shocked because I didn’t change partners or anything else. It could have been dormant I guess or wrong test but who knows.

HPV 16 does not cause warts or anything in male genitals. It’s almost harmless to men. If you do go down on her, however, use protection cuz it might cause oral cancer. Chances are still low. No treatment is needed for men for HPV.

2024年4月17日 · Colposcopy tomorrow, high risk, HPV 16 I get my colposcopy tomorrow morning after waiting for since March 8th. I’m extremely nervous, and I’m prepared to ask every question possible idc how annoying.

2021年12月9日 · I had HPV 16 show up on my Pap in late 2018, had some weird looking skin irritations on my inner labia so I was sent for a colposcopy at a gyno, cervix cake back clear, but the spot on my labia came back as vulva cancer stage 0 (carcinoma in situ). Had to have surgery early 2019, and again in later 2020 as it keeps coming back.
