2021年12月22日 · All the adapter does is convert the signal the gpu pushes through. It cannot give your hdmi more bandwidth. Btw even if your gpu supports hdmi 1.4, sometimes the Scaler inside the monitor is low end on the hdmi side and cannot do those higher refresh rates.

An HDMI source cannot feed a DisplayPort display. This is why it’s easy to find adapters that have a male DisplayPort connector and a female HDMI connector, but you won’t find any that have a male HDMI connector and a female DisplayPort connector, at least not without an active converter chip built in, like the one the OP posted.

2022年9月16日 · If you are looking to by an DP to hdmi 2.0 they have cables that can go both ways. But DP 1.4 is better then hdmi 2.0 and hdmi 2.1 is better then DP 1.4 So you have to make sure what cable you buy, they are only unidirectional as far as I know (I could be wrong). But it does not lower the frequency or anything of that nature no.

2021年4月10日 · Similarly, HDMI 2.0 will only support 4K at 60Hz and HDMI 2.1 will support 8K at 120Hz. Personally I prefer DisplayPort to connect my Laptop to my Monitor as USB-C to DP is convenient for me but depending on the resolution you need both can work just fine.

This isn't a huge issue, as I can reach about 160~Hz with HDMI, but I'd love to maximize the full potential of this monitor.
