2021年11月4日 · I think Gaviscon is healthier than Tums because Gaviscon is made out of magnesium and Tums is made out of calcium carbonate and aluminum. People said too much calcium is bad for health. It can create stones in kidney. Also, aluminum is bad for health. Gaviscon claim that their tablets are made out of sea weeds and magnesium.

2020年9月8日 · I practically lived on gaviscon and lost weight from hardly eating in that time. Like it was so much worse i had reflux every damn day. So my advice is if you stop ppis, taper off them slowly unless you enjoy suffering! But dont worry about taking too much gaviscon, you can take them whenever. Also use the double action stuff.

Tums stopped working for me. Gaviscon is much better. My 145yr old GI doc also prefers Gaviscon. Reply ...

2022年2月8日 · Wondering as people seem to consider gaviscon safe. My GI doctor also seemed to think taking it isn't a big deal usually. I remember years ago reading that stuff like tums can have dangerous long term effects (haven't touch those in years). Is there a reason gaviscon is safer than other ones? Thanks

2023年9月19日 · 54M, not comfortable taking either of these; the Tums because of the calcium, and the aluminum in Gaviscon. This is a fairly new condition for me--going on 6 months--so still learning. Also, Omeprazole affects my bp, and Famotidine causes palpitations.

2023年4月2日 · I got Gaviscon liquid from the UK on Amazon after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately, It really made my hiatal hernia really painful, like I had trapped gas I couldn't get rid of. So i stopped taking it.

2021年12月22日 · It's more like swallowing a capsule or tablet than chewing (say) Tums. This will still work just fine in your stomach - don't believe me, just drop a tablet in a cup of vinegar and watch what happens. FYI the Gaviscon Double Action active ingredients are: 250mg Sodium alginate (per tablet) 106.5mg Sodium bicarbonate (per tablet)

2021年9月1日 · Tums and gaviscon work differently. Tums reduces acid in your stomach whereas gaviscon blocks it from going up the esophagus. Calcium Carbonate used in tums can cause constipation and shouldn’t be used if you suffer from bowel issues. Sodium alginate used in gaviscon is much better for Acid reflux and LPR.
