With a bit of luck, hard effort and of course, money, South Wales may have a resident GWR loco again. I imagine 5668 would follow straight after that as well?

2008年6月6日 · The Great Western Railway (GWR) 5800 Class was a class of twenty 0-4-2T steam tank locomotives. They were built by the GWRs Swindon Works in 1933 and were used for light branch line work. They were similar to the GWR 1400 Class, but lacked the equipment for working autotrains. The last survivor of the class, number 5815, was with withdrawn in 1961.

2021年8月18日 · It should be remembered that although originally classified by the GWR as Blue route locomotives, post nationalisation the 57xx pannier tanks were re-classified as Yellow route availability which encompassed the vast majority of Western Region track mileage. Some of the 94xx series had a working life as short as four years.

2015年12月14日 · The condensing tanks, 9700-9710, were all plain black livery. Old Oak's pannier 8771 was lined out. There is a good photo of it in Pannier Papers No. 4. Also, there is a photo of 9741, at Stafford Road, in green livery, circa 1948/49. This is in Pannier Papers No. 2.
