GTCYS auditions are an opportunity to play your instrument and submit a recorded video so we can get to know you and place you with one of our 11 incredible orchestras. Our season runs September through mid-May.

GTCYS is a youth orchestra program based in the Greater Twin Cities metro that draws over 900 students from eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Its artistic director is Mark Russell Smith, who also conducts the top orchestra, Symphony.

GTCYS serves musicians of all ages and abilities, from beginning to pre-professional, ages 7 to 18. Year-round programs provide accessible entry points, and we provide tuition assistance and support for private lessons so that all students can participate, regardless of financial constraints.
