I want to export .gds file from cadence 6.1 and import it to HFSS 10 and do some simulations. Just to make sure my gds file is ok I did import it back to cadence and I do see the same layout. But when I import the same gds file in HFSS 10,I dont see anything. I am not sure what is the problem. When I look at my gds file its not readable.

The gds file itself is the problem. It is empty. So it is expected that you get an empty layout. Best regards

In the "stream file" section, type in the name of the gds file. In the "Library" section, type in the new name of a library. This library name will be created by the translator. For example, enter "mydesign". This field is a drop-down list but you can also enter text directly.

2024年3月6日 · this is the first time i imported gds file so i know nothing about gds. this gds file was created by our customer so i do not know why there is subclass on the gds file. cadence told me that i need the latest hotfix to solve this. so i am trying to install the latest one.

My first thought was to generate the layer map file, to rename the layers in that file and then to reimport that file. So, to create the layermap file, I clicked on File > Import > Stream. In the upcoming window i chose the gds file as the "Stream File" and checked the option "Generate Technology Information From Stream File".
