Avengers had nothing comparable and the few animated efforts didn't hit like the X-Men had. The 2000 Fox movie added more fuel to that.

2024年1月1日 · Ive seen that escape memory illustrated have that Scott's optic blast set the open parachute alight, instead of flaming debris from the plane, but not sure if that's canon or a manifestation of his guilt. Would be interesting if young Scott inadvertently used his optic blasts to slow their descent akin to the "superhero landing" in animated X'97.
