SearXNG, a metasearch engine. SearX, and its successor SearXNG, pull results from many different search engines and sources, and try to show them all to you in one singular and centralized search page. I have found that this is great for research, but is often pretty inaccurate when it comes to actually finding what I'm looking for.

2023年8月8日 · (free no signup) For all the hate Bing gets, they've done the best job of all the major search engines of integrating AI chat to answer questions. Bing's Chat AI is very similar to ChatGPT (it's based on GPT-4). Unlike ChatGPT's base model without plugins, it has access to the internet. It also doesn't require signing in, which is nice.

Recent updates: Increase context window, introduction of Pages, incognito search, grouping threads is great. Pros: They update pretty often, best citation attribution in the game, quick responses to queries.

2024年5月1日 · We have seen almost a lot of major search engines roll out AI in search. Google is implementing AI generated answers, Bing is using Copilot, DuckDuckGo and Ecosia implemented AI chat into their search. I haven’t tested most of the AI search features, but I was wondering which search engine uses AI the best and which one is the most accurate.

2023年2月5日 · LPT: If you are searching for something on a site and their search engine isn't any good. You can type what you are searching for into Google followed by "site:(url)" it will only search that site. I used it to look up questions about my car on forums.

And goes on to say among other things “The bottom line is if search engines have your information, it could get out, even if they have the best intentions. And this information (your search history) can be pretty personal. For these reasons, DuckDuckGo takes the approach to not collect any personal information.

Bad for more localised searches, if I search say 'tallest building in huyton' it only takes 3 or 4 hits before its showing various 'tallest buildings in the world' same with looking up insect IDs, before now ive used it for ID, nearly posted a photo with the …
