Jun 27, 2007 · Hi. I have a FR7 Spanish Mauser. It's in very good to excellent condition, but it has one major drawback: It closed on a commercial .308WIN no-go gauge. It did not close on a field gauge, however. My local gunsmith said that it was safe to shoot but only with 7.62x51 rounds that had been reloaded to 7x57 Mauser pressure standards.

Any Spanish FR7 or FR8 Mauser gun owners? - The Firearms Forum
May 30, 2005 · I recently purchased an FR7. It's in great condition and I really like the gun. I haven't had a chance to fire it. I plan to this week. I'd like to know what other people who own the gun think about it. I'm also - as it seems any FR7 or FR8 owner is - interested in what other people shoot in their gun. I'm really not into reloading at all.
Scope mount for FR7 - The Firearms Forum
Nov 28, 2005 · I have a couple problems, though. First, I can't seem to find any scope mounts that will work for the FR7. B-Square makes a scope for the Mauser 93 action, which is the action of the FR7, but it is designed to be attached to the front sight (just like it is on the KAR 98k, Swedish small ring 96 Mauser and Guardia Civil Spanish Mauser).
Spanish FR8 - The Firearms Forum
Sep 21, 2010 · They also seem unaware of the difference between the FR7 (uses the 7mm Spanish action) and the FR8 (8mm Mauser action), as mentioned by finloq or Jim K. Incidentally, my FR8, which is in very good-exc. condition shows once-used .308 brass in almost brand-new condition, and even the rifle failed my gun smith's Go gauge (quite common), the bolt ...
Mauser Myths Debunked - Firearms Talk
Jan 13, 2009 · Ok, back to the original question. The 1916 uses a 1893 action. It is a small ring Mauser. Although safe for 7.62x51 Nato which has an operating pressure of 50,000psi it is not proofed for .308, 62,000psi. The original 7x57 barrels were re-bored for the 1916 and FR7, they were still proofed for 49,000 psi which is for 7x57.
Spanish mauser problem - Firearms Talk
Nov 30, 2017 · I have an 1893 Spanish Mauser produced by the Spanish at Oviedo. The numbers on the bolt do not match the receiver. I have fired two rounds of Federal factory ammunition in it. Both cases stuck and had to be removed using by dropping a brass rod down the barrel. The cases look fine, but the...

Feb 4, 2008 · These rifles retained their original furniture and fittings, though some were converted further to the FR7 standard, which received cut down stocks, a shorter 18.5-inch (470 mm) barrel, and more modern aperture sights.
problem with k98k - The Firearms Forum
Aug 3, 2007 · My M48 doesn't, but my FR7 with the 93 Mauser action does. I'm just curious whether or not this is common in 98k rifles, or 98 actions, for that matter, 'cause I know my M48's 98 action doesn't do this.
