2017年9月11日 · Taken on October 21, 1967, during the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam's March on the Pentagon, the iconic photo shows a Vietnam War protestor placing a carnation into the barrel of a rifle held by a soldier of the 503rd Military Police Battalion.

Protesters started putting flowers into the barrels of guns as a non-violent way to demonstrate in front of military personal and riot police. Flower in the gun was a new strategy and was coined by American beat writer Allen Ginsberg as " Flower Power ".
