2024年1月9日 · The Equal Housing Opportunity logo, commonly referred to as the fair housing symbol or HUD fair housing logo, is the official symbol that indicates compliance with fair housing laws in the United States.

It reminds us of the importance of social justice and requires all U.S. citizens to adhere to the Fair Housing Act. The history of equal housing opportunity started in the 1960s, during the American Civil Rights Movement.

It was created during the Civil Rights Movement and says you can’t discriminate against people when selling, renting, or financing homes. It now also covers discrimination based on disability and whether someone has a family.

All advertising of residential real estate for sale, rent, or financing should contain an equal housing opportunity logotype, statement, or slogan as a means of educating the homeseeking public that the property is available to all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

The Fair Housing Act itself does not require the use of Equal Opportunity logo or slogan, “Equal Housing Opportunity,” in any ad. However, using the logo regularly is good evidence of the company’s commitment to fair housing compliance.
