If you want to travel off road, you have to play to the duscae region and complete a side quest which unlocks chocobos, these are meant for off-road traversal.

That means they would still need to do significant body modifications to install the suicide doors, and then the style modifications. And don't even get me started on the absurd drop top.

Well, he had a head-on collision with another car and totally wrecked Regalia so it was moving at 1/2 speed. You can't take control of the car, you cant have it repaired. I thought I'm going to murder him.

It gives you something like 1 AP for every half a mile, or something like that (I don't know the full numbers, but I was definitely getting AP for drives that were less than a mile away).
