I was thinking more along the lines of seeing the relationships between the former holders, like seeing Krueger and Xavier, the former Colossal Titan, the former Armored Titan, interacting. However, this sounds very intriguing as well.

In both scenes where the Attack Titan's power is passed on--Eren Krueger to Grisha, Grisha to Eren--they mention to NOT repeat the mistakes of the past, save Armin and Mikasa, etc. I think that Future or Alternate Timeline Eren has sent using the Coordinate power to prevent repeating mistakes that led to something bad happening to his friends.
