Mar 17, 2017 · Been interested in Gator Edger Blades vs the Star Blades I use now. Where did you buy your Gator Edger Blades? Not really happy with how small of an edge my star blade leaves, even tho my Weed Control guy I Parnter with say big edges produce easier weed growth there, Blah! I guess he's right tho. I'd still like to try the Gator Edger Blades.

Feb 8, 2001 · When I bought my new echo stick edger, my dealer put one of the echo heavy duty blades on and said, let me know what you think. He said he buys them in bulk and said he sells them for, I think he said about $1.50 each.

Nov 12, 2017 · The Oregon Gator edger blades are/were (in 2009 at time of the linked thread) were made in china. It just depends on what grade steel they used. 2-4X the price doesn't necessarily mean 2-4X the better metal grade.

Apr 12, 2017 · Mower blades come with an edge, why not edger blades. I cut edge st. Augustine and it always seems to miss those thick round weedy stalks that stick out. (don't know the correct term) The very tip of the edge gets sharp naturally from rubbing the sidewalk edge, but I think it would help things if I sharpened the sides also.

Aug 3, 2019 · edger blades are disposable. I go through 2-3 a week during prime time, not so fast when things slow down. (like now.) they cost me $2.80 a blade, it's passed on to the consumer/client/customer, ain't no thang.

Jun 28, 2008 · And yes, that's about how much wear I can get on my edger blades as well. The unsharpened ones I actually get less use out of on my stihl straight shaft edger, I think less of the blade is actually exposed on them. Dosn't take long and I'm pushing the gear head along the sidewalk, time for a new blade, lol.

Jul 22, 2010 · Edger blades are made with soft steel for a reason, soft steel bends, nicks and/or wears whereas hardened steel has a tendency to crack and/or shatter. An edger blade hitting a protruding piece of cement or stone underground and shattering could be very bad for the user.
