2017年6月8日 · I was an able to wire a small solar panel to my earth battery in parallel. The circuit used to cheap volts from the earth battery (built to produce more volts than the solar panel) and the amps from the solar. It was a cool test. The same should work with a small battery wired into the earth battery.

2009年9月11日 · The connection to earth ground only gives a definite reference for the battery. The negative terminal simply assumes the same potential as ground. If the earth connection actually supplied electrons (or accepted them in place of the copper plate) the battery would operate differently. We would use a zinc-earth or copper-earth battery instead.

2009年4月8日 · Either terminal cna be "Ground" and that ground is entirely unrelated to Earth Ground. The only time they are at the same potential is when dragging chains, which is often seen on gas tanker delivery trunks. I would prefer the term "Common" used, so "Ground" always means Earth Ground, but it is looking like that's not gonna happen...

I am trying to use a 200A continuous duty solenoid to act as a battery disconnect on a vehicle using the ignition switch as the positive voltage trigger for the solenoid. Forgive my MS Paint diagram.
