There are two swords purporting to be the genuine sword: The execution sword of Katte (18th century), kept at the City Museum of Brandenburg [ de ] until 2014, when the sword was returned to the von Katte family.

The klewang or kelewang is a category of traditional single-edged sword that can be found throughout the Malay Archipelago. Usually it is shorter than a pedang (sword) but longer than a golok (machete). There are straight bladed types, but most are curved.

The Klewang was named after the native name for their sword-machete like weapons that they used in the jungle as both a weapon and tool. The Klewang certainly has that piratey look (and feel) with the notched false top edge and falchion blade style.

Presented is a first rate Dutch military and naval Cutlass commonly known as a Klewang in its original scabbard, and in excellent condition with the sharpest slightly curved 24 inch blade we’ve ever touched.

2017年1月3日 · The Dutch Maréchaussée Sword a.k.a. the Dutch Klewang I have been much fascinated by the “Dutch klewang” as a hybrid of European and local Indonesian design. It was born out of the need to arm native police (the maréchaussée ) with a suitable sword to use in Sumatra, notably in Aceh, when combating local insurgents.

An elegant sword of the distinctive “Walloon” type made for the Amsterdam Town Guard in the mid-17 th century. The sword is in fine condition with the hilt retaining much of its original browned finish.
