2009年5月7日 · Yeah as I think on it I realize that even my own chickens could have picked the bones after a predator killed the duck and took what it wanted. Since I have no idea when the attack happened we are monitoring the chicken/duck area very carefull and from now on, everyone goes into lock down if we are gone for the entire day.

2015年4月26日 · Thursday night I had a pretty bad animal attack involving 4 of my birds. 3 of the ducks looked as if they were chomped on the back of the neck and one is just gone. They seemed to be walking around just fine but a little bloody and missing feathers so I took my ducky first aid kit and cleaned up the wounds to the best of my ability.

2011年11月9日 · DH went to the farm store which did not have the suggested wound care products, but did have Vetericyn (antiseptic, antimicrobial,ect) spray. We sprayed the wounds with the Vetericyn & settled them into the mud room. The least severe duck even started quacking (talking) to the other duck when they were settled in for the night.

2017年6月22日 · No other sings of injury. I went out searching for my other duck, hoping to figure out what could've done this, and I found him about 100 yards away, just outside the property. His feathers were scattered everywhere in my yard in the very same spot I found the other duck.

2009年2月23日 · II just went out and checked on my chicken/duck pen and found the same thing! A beautiful greenish egg eaten up with nothing left but the shell. I also saw a magpie yesterday hanging around the pen. They will also eat eggs I found out so maybe watch for them and/or cover the ducks enclosure with netting to keep the magpies out! 2015年9月8日 · We were able to rescue the other before it could be hurt, but now we have a very lonely duck. Our ducks had been very independent, could roam during the day on their own and had no trouble sleeping without us around. Now our duck is terrified to be by himself. When my husband leaves, the duck quacks loudly until he returns.

2011年12月1日 · Woke up this morning to 3 ducks and 1 chicken with missing heads and a 4th duck with a wounded neck. They are in a 5ft tall chicken wire enclosure. There is no sign of how the beast got in or out of the pen. There is a tree inside the pen whose canopy touches trees outside the fence.
