Inverted L vs Double Bazooka 40 Meters WSPR 24-hours
2020年11月18日 · Over the past two days I have been running 24-hour periods of WSPR on both my Inverted L and Double Bazooka antennas on 40 meters. I realize there may be differences in propagation between two days, so it’s not a perfect comparison but it’s the best I can offer. Both antennas performed extremely well transmitting 200 milliwatts of power.

It is what is known as an extended double zepp (or very close) and so it offers some gain, about 3 db, in the broadside in favored directions. As you note, it is not a half wave antenna. As you will find out, the simplicity of it is what makes it stay in the air - light weight and simple.

2014年9月5日 · We have upgraded the antenna on the MDSR test station. The G5RV was retired and replaced with a "Double Bazooka" made out of RG-58. This antenna is a horizontal dipole, but uses coaxial cable instead of antenna wire. The advantage of coax, instead of regular antenna wire is the reduction of the wave propagation inside the coax.

I built one decades ago from 450 Ohm ladder line and hung it indoors from an attic roof rafter to access the old DX cluster and some friends on Simplex. It did the job but my hilltop location did most of the work.

2019年6月16日 · Again with double bazooka antennas from International Antenna Corporation I purchased a new 20M, 40M & 80M element antennas and supported all three in a inverted V fashion from my 30 foot flag pole spaced about 5 feet apart. I like to call it my Christmas tree antenna. They work great and I have no interaction problem with zero SWR.
