2022年10月2日 · Don Panoz even originally supported the USRRC. The USRRC used FIA rules but only lasted two years before being folded. The series was bought and became the Grand-American Road Racing Association in 2000. Panoz still wasn't satisfied and decided to adopt ACO rules and create his own championship, the American Le Mans Series in 1999.

2022年6月25日 · Grand-Am took over from SCCA's USRRC which was based around the Daytona 24 and WGI 6h, and focused on making sportscar racing affordable. ALMS took over from the previous generation of IMSA which hosted Sebring (and later Petit Le Mans), and Don Panoz's passion was bringing Le Mans rules to America.
