2022年2月1日 · We are trying to verify that we are reading the spell Bless correctly. The way we read it is that "whenever" you make a save or attack roll, you add 1d4. That "whenever" word seems to suggest that anyone affected by Bless can add the 1d4 whenever they make an attack roll or save before the spell ends...that could mean one or more times per turn.

The main thing is during character creation the players each got a blessing which gave them effectively Guidance on that one skill. I've seen in several threads to make a magic item that grants whatever buff, and I've done this.

Your DM is either misunderstanding the rule, or is changing the rule as a houserule.

Bless provides bonus to two of the three basic rolls in DnD 5e, attacks and saves. On top of that, it does it for three people (or more because it upcasts very well). The math here is the increase from 1 to 4 to attacks, which helps a lot in relation to bounded accuracy.

2016年2月24日 · Here's an easy comparison to make: Bless isn't on the Bard Spell List, Bane is. Bane still affects creatures that are immune to most of the Bard's early tricks, (Undead, elves immune to charm and sleep etc.) I agree that if you're a Cleric bless is very good, but lowering their Saving Throws and Attack Rolls is super helpful as a Bard.
