Does Dawn dishwashing detergent kill plants (shrubs & flowers)?
I've used a mixture of 2 tsp. dish detergent (don't remember brand name), 2 tsp. neem oil, and 1 gallon of water for pest control. I apply it to the foliage using a garden sprayer. The plants don't seem to mind, and it helps keep the bugs away. –

Not unless you mix a lot of soap with a little bit of water. Soap is a fatty acid and when applied in a thick coat and left on the leaves and stems will burn soft plant tissue.

Not sure if white oil, even the milder version of 1 part dishwashing detergent to 4 parts vegetable oil can be used on brassicas. I read somewhere else that just soapy water might work so you could try that first, at least on the parts you don't plan on eating. Even if you test a plant or two then you'll know the outcome for next season.

I used to go through wasp killer and while the residue would prevent them from coming back to the same pole, they still would come back several times per summer to other poles. Now, I simply use a few tablespoons of dishwashing detergent with a gallon of water in my lawn sprayer.
