2022年5月9日 · E20 is a mix of 20% ethanol and 80% 95 octane gasoline. It's suitable for a lot of the more modern cars in Thailand that use "general" fuel types. E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% 95 octane gasoline, and is only suitable for cars specifically designed for it.

However, that doesn't mean you need the higher number. Plenty of cars run just fine on 87 octane. It's wholly dependent on your car. Your average engine in a Toyota Camry only needs 87 Octane, but turbocharged motors or ones with a high compression ratio (how much volume is squeezed down) need higher octane.

Toyota is placing bets on all categories because we don't know which options will he favorable 5 years from now. Even today we are seeing a large bump in hybrid demand, but other companies have been caught without an option in that space and missed out on potential sales.
