2010年6月10日 · The correct procedure involves chaecking rotating torque of pinion. Marking nut, pinion and yoke. Remove nut and pull (not hammer) the yoke and replace seal. Reinstall yoke, and tighten nut sufficent to obtain orginal rotating torque. Tighten nut sufficent to increase rotating torque by 5 inch pound.

2007年5月13日 · Re: Dana 80 pinion seal leak - help please I was quoted $120 for parts and labor from my local Stealer. Not bad as on the Dana 80 the torque spec is 460ft lbs!!! That is some serious torque!!! Mine was just weeping and has now stopped? Yours probably has a burr they didn't catch. Make them do it right, and no weeping is not normal!!!

2010年11月25日 · The Dana 50 and 60 front axles use the same procedure, but on the Dana 80 axles used on the duallys, the pinion bearing preload is set with shims on a solid shoulder on the pinion shaft. On the D80's it isn't necessary to change the shims unless the bearings are changed.

2024年12月19日 · I have a 2000.5, 2500 quad cab, short bed, 4wd, NV4500. I noticed my outter pinion seal was leaking and went to change it without really paying any attention. I got to my axel nut, and all the sudden was "wait a min, thats different, should be 1 5/16." Upon looking at my housing low and behold Ive got a 2500 with a Dana 80 in it from the factory!
