The City of Dakota is located on the western bank of the Mississippi River in Southeastern Winona County. Dakota is situated approximately 20 miles south of the City of Winona and approximately 10 miles north of the City of La Crosse, WI.

The City of Dakota, MN office is housed in the Bill Grant Community Center located at 725 Frontage Road. There are no regular office hours but we will respond to voice mail messages or emails as quickly as we can.

Fees. Zoning Permit Fee - $20.00 for all applications submitted for consideration at a scheduled City Council Meeting. Applications should arrive at least 7 days prior to a city council meeting so there is enough time to review prior to the meeting (2nd Monday of each month).

The Dakota City Council meets the second Monday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Bill Grant Community Center, all are welcome to attend.
