2021年8月10日 · Is there an up-to-date guide on DDS textures? I really don't understand them all that much, and working with them has been very frustrating since it seems like only obscure programs are capable of creating or opening them.

2019年8月26日 · For .DDS tweaking/conversion, the go-to is the Intel Texture Works plugin. At least for Fallout 4 (I haven't touched 76 yet, so no comment there), settings should be as follows: Diffuse - Save as Color Map, BC7 8bpp, Fine (Linear, DX11+) for quality, or BC1 4bpp (Linear) for lowest size possible at the cost of compression artifacts.

2022年8月10日 · For mipmaps, make sure you select "Generate mipmaps," so your new texture doesn't waste computing resources when viewed from afar. A caveat about BC1 DDS compression: I'd only consider it suitable for certain diffuse (standard), environment mask (_m), and similar textures.

2017年5月3日 · See, I've noticed a problem: when I edit an image with Alpha layers and then export/save to .dds format, using the advised settings, the Alpha layer is removed!

2017年4月19日 · TL;DR: Creating custom National Spirit image, it's a .DDS file. Background for one I created is black and actual image is white, while vanilla images are transparent background and image visible.
