Cupidcore is a sub-aesthetic to Lovecore created by Christopher Cupid in 2014. She premiered the concept on tumblr and established it there. Cupidcore follows the same themes as it’s foremother Lovercore.

Lovecore is an aesthetic based on the visual culture of romantic love and infatuation, sharing the visuals and ethos of Saint Valentine's Day. It focuses on affectionate and "gushy" forms of love, involving both requited and unrequited relationships.

Based on my research, the aesthetic seems to have been born in the 1960s, but started actually gaining recognition in Tumblr in the 2010s.
