Floss and Thread Organization & Storage – NeedlenThread.com
2006年7月6日 · They make a little floss-winder doo-hickey that makes the winding apparently easier, but I still don’t like the idea of winding my floss onto hundreds of little cards, and cramming the cards into a plastic box. It puts too many kinks in the floss, too many “stress” marks and fold marks. I know I would never do it with my silks! And the ...
Floss & Thread Organization & Storage, Part II
2006年7月17日 · I have just invested in the new DMC Gold floss storage system. Basically the floss slips as is onto a “stitch bow” and the identification band from the floss fits onto the end of the bow and this then slides into a variety of storage devices. There are sleeves that hold 15 stitch bows and these sleeves file neatly into 2 ring binders.
Floss Organization: Comb Binding Hack – NeedlenThread.com
2017年6月19日 · Thanks for all the wonderful floss organizing ideas, Mary. I like the idea of the floss drops, as a person could actually design their own and create what works for them. Of course, the cabinets are fabulous but a bit out of the budget for now. I’ll be mulling over the possibilities and sketching out some drop designs in the ol’ sketchbook.
Thread Organizing for a Large Needlework Project – All Done!
2015年9月21日 · This requirement eliminated bobbins, floss bags, and the stitch-bow system. This left the LoRan thread cards and thread drops. I also wanted the ability to remove specific threads from the main group so that I could stitch with them, without having to carry around the whole thread card or a group of thread cards. This left thread drops.

2015年9月17日 · There must be something cross-stitches in the air. Having stayed away from cross stitch for years because I never liked any of the patterns, I have just discovered the Chatelaine cross stitches which are amazing! (Www.chatelaine.de). Embroidery Thread Storage & Organization - NeedlenThread.com
2012年4月12日 · I use the small, plastic storage chests of drawers from tool shops like Sears that are meant for screws, nails and other little bitty things. They are a l m o s t deep enough, front to back, for a skein of DMC floss and hold , for me, one skein of about 8 colors in each drawer.
Organizing Embroidery Threads for a Large Project
2015年6月1日 · I also make my own floss cards for the large projects (think Teresa Wentzler; minimum 30 colors per project). I take empty cardboard boxes (cereal boxes, cracker boxes etc), use my hand held single hole punch and punch away (my hand gets tired after 20 or so holes). I then write the color/s and symbol (cross stitch) above the hole.

2012年4月10日 · In MacStitch, do you know if you can scan pictures into the software? Anymore information you can share with me to make a decision would be helpful! By the way, I read your article about you and your niece doing a counted cross stitch project. I love counted cross stitch, and just recently finished stitching a Long Dog baby sampler ...
Organizing Embroidery Threads for Projects - NeedlenThread.com
2009年7月24日 · Way back, in the deep, dark beginning of the website, I wrote an article on thread organization & storage, exploring some of the more popular forms including bags and rings and such, and then followed it up with another article that included the file-a-floss system and EZ Bobs. So this isn’t really a new topic here, but it is another angle…
Silk Hand Embroidery Thread 101: Getting Started with Silk
2017年3月20日 · Belle Soie from Classic Colorworks (Crescent Colours) is a 12-strand silk floss, hand-dyed, so there are variations in the colors (over-dyed as opposed to variegated). Rainbow Gallery – Splendor – 12 ply spun silk, fairly widely available in the US (many local needlework shops for cross stitch and needlepoint carry Rainbow Gallery). The ...
