I strongly believe my 4.5a battery tender charger toasted a brand new AGM battery which was from Costco as well, because that battery only received one charge from it and last me only 2 weeks. Luckily got it refunded and got a Kirkland one instead. Never used that charger ever since.

That said, I have a 5 amp (bulk charge phase) charger from Battery Tender, and a battery at around 40% SOC only takes about 6 hours to be at 100% SOC (float charge phase). The vehicle in question has a 68AH battery with a 48V mild hybrid battery attached to a DC DC converter.
