Convict Lake Campground has 88 dry campsites. Half of the campsites are reservable and half are first-come, first-served. A few campsites overlook the lake and some are along Convict Creek.

Convict Lake Loop. The trail is 3.25 miles total that follows the shoreline. You can hike in either direction around the lake starting next to the boat launch at the north side of the lake or at shale beach at the south side of the lake. The trail is relatively flat at an elevation of 7,850ft.

Fishing season at Convict Lake starts annually on the last Saturday of April, one hour before sunrise and ends on November 15, one hour after sunset. The pristine lake is 168 acres and ringed with towering mountain peaks.

Before Convict Lake was a Resort, It Was an Escape Route. The Resort was officially established as Convict Lake Camp in 1929 and owned by Bill Garner. Prior to that, the resort area was referred to as Raymer’s Camp. Ownership was passed to the Wenger Family in 1962. The current owners took possession in 1982.

Convict Lake fishing is arguably some of the best in the West and one of the most popular fishing “holes” in the Eastern Sierra, boasting a fantastic supply of Rainbow and Brown trout. Fishing season at Convict Lake is from the last Saturday in April to November 15th.
